Rose Tambanis
Rose Tambanis has lived in Cairns since 1999. Born in Slovenia her family moved to Cooma, in NSW at the age of six, where her father
helped shape the Snowy Mountains Scheme. Roses life is one of social and geographical contrasts. It overlaps itself with old and new
accomplishments that are quietly personal, independent and always evolving with the ebb and flow of change These life changes are
reflected in her artwork which have added more texture and tenacity to her character and work.
Soulful softness and gentle moods are her favoured side and manifest in her use of pastels and acrylics. Yet her use of oils reflect
her determination and will that shows brooding strength. In 2006 Rose won first prize in the oil section of the Cairns Art Society
at the Regional Gallery. In 2007 she has solo exhibitions at Gallery 53 and Cooma Regional Gallery.
Her work hangs in private and corporate collections throughout Australia, Japan, Italy, Greece, The United Kingdom and the USA.
